Learn about knives and knife sharpening fundamentals from former chef and knife sharpener Nicholas Beaulieu. He has traveled around the world learning different cooking and knife sharpening techniques. Nicholas joined our team thinking he knew everything there was to know about sharpening, but when he met Marty Petlicki, the owner and master sharpener of Northwestern Cutlery he was eager to learn more from him!
In this hands-on class you’ll learn…
1. Learning to sharpen knives step-by-step on a whetstone
2. Proper steeling techniques
3. How to care for your knives at home
4. What exactly “sharp” means
The class will have no more than 5 students to ensure ample learning. Majority of class time will be the hands-on knife-sharpening lesson, so come ready to roll up your sleeves!
Please dress accordingly and bring your own chef knife to sharpen.
At the end of the class you will get some time to shop our store where you will have the opportunity to purchase your own stones, knives and any other kitchen gadgets you find. The entire store will be 20% off during that time!
